The Apple TV app is coming to PlayStation consoles

Sony confirmed that the Apple TV app is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles in November.

The PlayStation 5 launches Nov. 12, and is expected to include the Apple TV app available that day. Similarly, an update to PlayStation 4 will also bring the app to that console. This news comes after Xbox beta testers also discovered the app on the Xbox app store.

The Apple TV app will allow PlayStation users to access Apple TV + content, Apple TV Channels, and all iTunes content purchased on the console. Apple is pushing to have Apple TV + content available on all possible platforms shows its commitment to the service and its longevity.

Apple recently announced the acquisition of broadcast rights to all “Peanuts” properties, including special holiday deals. This means that users will be able to watch “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” on the PS5 through the Apple TV App.

Anyone using an Apple TV + free trial received an extension through February 2021 to ensure they have enough time to watch content from season two of popular shows. “Dickinson,” for example, airs its second season premiere on January 8, 2021.

Update nov. 11, 2020: The Apple TV app is now available to download on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.
