New technology promises to triple the efficiency of lithium batteries

The futures batteries of our smartphones could reserve big surprises, in fact a new one technology developed by a group of South Korean scientists promises to be able triple the efficiency and consequently the capacity of the lithium ion batteries. This is argued by one last relationship of the South Korean Ministry.

Scientists of the Seoul National University have discovered a way to increase (about three times the current technologies) the capacity of the lithium ion battery using a new one nano structure of iron oxide and manganese oxide instead of the classic lead still used in the cathode of the batteries of our devices.

The first test they seem to be very promising, in fact, in addition to allowing to improve the efficiency of the battery it was found that one of the first prototypes lost less than 0.5% of its performance even after numerous charging cycles.

Unfortunately these are only the details provided by the South Korean Ministry of Science but certainly the Prof. Hyun Taek-hwan from the Seoul National University and his team of scientists will soon be providing us with interesting details about this new technology.
