Asus launches the third beta of Android 10 for ZenFone Max Pro M1

ASUS is one of the few smartphone manufacturers that offers more of a type of android software experience on their smartphones. The company maintains a dedicated product line for Android purists that was launched in 2018 with the release of ZenFone Max Pro M1.

The phone was sold with a near-obsolete build of Android 8.1 Oreo and later received the ad update Android 9 Pie. As for Android 10, ASUS has conducted a public beta test and is now ready to release the third beta version of Android 10 for ZenFone Max Pro M1.

The new build increases the internal software version number from 17.2017.2004.424 to 17.2017.2006.429. Similar to previous beta updates for this phone, users need to manually download the entire firmware package from the ASUS download portal. The lack of a OTA it means that the requested download size is nearly 1.7 GB. The Android security patch level of this build is June 2020.

The log of the changes published on the official ASUS download portal is somewhat strange as it also contains rumors of the second build beta. Due to the fact that the builds are cumulative in nature, all the fixes and feature enhancements from the previous two beta updates are definitely present in the latest beta. Here are the changes actually new:

  1. Fixed VOIP silent call issue after opening “OK Google” in voice assistant.
  2. Fixed HD, HDR HD, high frame rate missing in PUBG.
  3. Fixed NFC not working after updating to Android 10.
