Toshihiro Kondo says Falcom is preparing something for fans who want to start at the beginning of the Trails series

In a new interview with Degenki Online, Falcom President Toshihiro Kondo sat down to discuss everything. The legend of heroes on the occasion of the show’s 20th anniversary. The interview is fascinating to read, but one point in particular really interested me.

Asked about the future of The legend of heroes, Kondo responded that the team understands that it is difficult to play previous titles because they are locked to older hardware. They would like new players to start with the most recent versions, but he thinks many people would like to start from the beginning. And with that, he said Falcom is planning something that will hopefully be announced sometime around the 20th anniversary.

As for what it could be, there has been a lot of speculation for some time that the Falcom team could be working on a remake of the first one. Trails title, The Legend of Heroes: Paths in the Sky. This is of course followed by Trails in the Sky SC And Trails in the Sky the Thirdall of which are only available on PSP, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PC via Steam.

Allowing these games to make their way to current platforms would allow the entire series to be playable on a single console, especially after Trails to Azure And Trails from scratch have been released for current systems over the past few years. More players could jump in and experience one of the best RPG series out there.

The Legend of Heroes: Paths Through the Dawn is set to release next week in English on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC. An ad for Trails through Daybreak II is probably planned for Anime Expo. To know more Trailsbe sure to check out Final Weapon’s complete coverage of the series.
