Tablets may soon see more useful search results on the Play Store

Android on tablets and other big screen devices it hasn’t been a great experience for a long time, but Google is slowly trying to change it. The recent update of Android 12L focused on interface improvements for foldable tablets and smartphones, with Google Play Store which is now introducing some changes to help people find properly optimized applications for large devices.

Google announced in a blog post Wednesday, “In the coming months, we will be updating our functionality and ranking logic in Play on big screen devices to prioritize high-quality apps and games according to these app quality guidelines. This will affect how apps appear in search results and recommendations on the home page, with the aim of helping users find the most optimized apps for their device. “

Google has mentioned just a few of the guidelines that will be used to determine if an app is high quality for large screens. The company further states that the Play Store will highlight apps that have been optimized for large screens “in editorial content on Play”, although the Play Store on tablets and Chromebooks already has a section on the home page with links to apps optimized.
