Resident Evil 3 Remake is 90% ready, says devs; game will be more action

In a recent interview for Japanese magazine Famitsu, Masao Kawada and Peter Fabiano revealed new details of Resident Evil 3 Remake. Capcom developers commented on the current stage of production and the changes from the original game.

According to them, the game is 90% ready and, currently, is undergoing final adjustments. Then, producers guarantee that there will be no postponements and that the title will be ready to hit stores in April 2020.

Another important piece of information revealed in the interview is that RE3 Remake will have more elements of action than the original title and Resident Evil 2 Remake. Therefore, this will bring about a series of changes in certain aspects of the game.

Masao Kawada and Peter Fabiano commented that the story of Resident Evil 3 Remake will undergo several changes. However, the developers say the plot will retain the charm of the original game released in September 1999.

The developers also explain that, due to the action elements, it was necessary to change the design of the protagonist Jill Valentine. However, they did not make any major changes in their look because the character is one of the best known in the franchise. In this way, any more “abrupt” change could make it uncharacteristic.

Finally, the producer pair revealed the real purpose of the game. According to them, the proposal is to show the strength and beauty of Jill Valentine and how she controls her own fear when facing the villain Nemesis.

Available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, Resident Evil 3 Remake is scheduled to be released on April 3, 2020.
