Rumors of this merger have existed since 2020, but now it is official. However, it is important to note that at the product level, they are still two different companies with unique market identities for each brand.
OnePlus and Oppo can look like Xiaomi and Redmi
Redmi started out as a subsidiary of Xiaomi, eventually becoming an independent brand from the popular Chinese manufacturer. Still, the brands work together on some aspects and share suppliers.
