New Gran Turismo promises to be a “complete form” of the series
Although a new Gran Turismo has not yet been announced publicly, Polyphony Digital – which recently opened a new studio – has already confirmed that production of a new game has already started. In an interview with the GT Planet website, CEO Kazunori Yamauchi stated that, from observing World Tour competitions around the world, he already had some visions of the way the series should go.
“Having done all these World Tours, it gave me the opportunity to get a feel for the Gran Turismo story,” said Yamauchi. “It gives me pointers and tips on the things we should be sure to do in the future of the series.” Without confirming whether we will have Gran Turismo 7 or a sequel to Sport, the executive stated that we can expect a “complete form of Gran Turismo” in the new game.
“I think the new game that we are going to create will be a combination of past, present and future – a complete form of Gran Turismo,” he explained. Although he did not say that the game will reach the PlayStation 5, the executive said that more processing power will guarantee better virtual reality experiences. “I really like VR; I am one who believes in its possibilities and this is very suitable for a racing game ”.
