Mix – Open Source Augmented Reality Engine


Thanks to our attentive reader whom we will thank in the sources, we learned about mixare.org. Mixare.org is an opensource app (soon to be released under gplv3) that allows you to have information on the Trentino landscape through the use of augmented reality. (For those who don’t know how to define augmented reality, just read this article about layar for android.) The project mixing is all Italian and judging from the premises it could, at least the SDK / library, take off through the use that the developers will make of it since it will make their life easier in writing this type of new generation applications.
The mixare application makes use of the data contained in wikipedia and suedtirolerland.it: an information portal on the whole of Trentino. If you are in the covered area of ​​the portal or you simply want to try the application through wikipedia data, you can download the application from market simply trying to mix or by scanning the following barcode with your android mobile:
