Here are new features of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X70
In February, Qualcomm announced the design of its fifth generation 5G modem: the Snapdragon X70. The latest RF modem system does not make substantial improvements to raw download and upload speeds, but it does offer several new features, most notably the new AI processor for improved performance, greater energy efficiency and more.
The Snapdragon X70 originally supported Qualcomm Smart Transmit 2.0, a system-wide feature that allows OEMs to optimize download / upload speeds and coverage. The behemoth has now introduced Smart Transmit 3.0which extends these optimizations and improvements to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios.
Snapdragon X70 is indeed the first 5G modem to support standalone mmWave connection, allowing operators to deploy services using mmWave exclusively. This will reduce congestion and most importantly, allow you to provide services without having to secure a license below 6 GHz or tap into lower frequencies.
