Christmas: 49.1% of activated devices are Apple, Samsung follows at 19.8%
The Christmas it is always a great time to reverse the trend thanks to the numerous promotions and initiatives that entice consumers to buy any type of product. Obviously, the smartphone market is also part of this sector and according to the market analysis carried out by Flurry between 19th and 25th December, Apple reigns with activations of the 49.1%. Unfortunately only Samsung manages to keep up with them but with much lower results.
Here is the research data for Flurry:
According to the latter the iPhone they were among the most purchased and appreciated by consumers, although the share fell by 2.2 percentage points compared to last year. It follows Samsung with activations for the 19.8% and a 2.1% growth compared to Christmas 2014.
Essentially it means that the Korean giant has managed to earn everything that the Cupertino rival has left on the street. Strangely we still find Nokia in third place, albeit in sharp decline compared to 5.8% the previous year. Instead they try to get on the podium LG And Xiaomi which recorded activations for 1.7% and 1.5% respectively.
The growing demand for phablets that currently represent the 27% of total activations during the Christmas period (in 2013 the share was 4%).
Who knows if this trend will continue also in the first months of 2016.
